Description of the procedure and the resulting effect

Receding gums (gingival recession) can occur for a variety of reasons, including mechanical gum damage, excessive chewing pressure, heredity, inflammatory diseases. This condition not only worsens the aesthetics of the smile, but it can cause increased sensitivity of the teeth to cold. The exposed root can also get wiped off and a visible defect can form.

This is a minor surgery. Under completely painless local anaesthesia, a small incision is made, the exposed neck is covered with gums and the wound is treated with very thin sutures, which are left for 14 days. In certain cases (depending on the clinical situation) it is necessary to use a binder graft or the so-called collagen matrix, which helps healing, to achieve the best result.

The whole surgery is performed under local anaesthesia, it is painless.

We guarantee compliance with the principles of asepsis (sterility) of all procedures, all surgeries are completely painless. We cover the exposed tooth necks on the basis of smile design planning. The surgery is performed using the magnifying optics of the Italian brand Univet. We use high quality biomaterials and sutures.

Convalescence
