Description of the procedure and the resulting effect

If the bust is developed in such a way that it causes problems to the patient and, moreover, her body is noticeably asymmetrical due to her large breasts, it is necessary to consult a plastic surgeon about the possibility of undergoing breast reduction surgery. During this procedure, a part of the breast tissue is removed by surgery, breast lift and, if necessary, adjustment of the areola is performed. Breast size is reduced, and the bust gets a more youthful appearance.

Convalescence

A special elastic bra is worn for 6–8 weeks 24 hours a day. Sutures are absorbable. Physical activities that could strain the breasts are prohibited. The first week after the surgery, complete rest is recommended. Lighter housework is possible in 14 days, hard work, lifting weights and sports activities after 2 months. Returning to work depends on what job you do and on your own feeling of recovery.

The procedure is amazingly effective and permanent. The result should be your satisfaction and overall boosting your self-confidence and especially your quality of life.

Frequently asked questions about the procedure

How long after the surgery can I start working?

Most people usually need 2 weeks to return to work, but each situation is different and depends on the doctor’s recommendation. During the recovery period you must stop any significant physical activity for at least 1 month after the surgery. You should also avoid lifting heavy weights for at least 2 months after the surgery.

How long after the procedure can I play sports again?

We will allow you active sports, exercise, working out or even extensive housework approximately 1–2 months after the surgery. However, for more physically demanding activities, you should always wear a compression bra 2–3 months after the surgery.

Will I be deprived of the possibility of breastfeeding in the future?

You do not need to worry. By breast reduction, the mammary gland is not damaged, so you will definitely not be deprived of breastfeeding in the future.

What will my scars be like?

All our surgeons are fully qualified and accredited specialists in plastic and reconstructive surgery, which means that they have the professional skills to take special care during surgery to minimize scarring and trauma to the breast. As with any surgery, scarring will remain at the incision site during the breast reduction procedure. The scars will vary from person to person, how noticeable they will be, depends also on the type of incision used. At first they will be red and swollen, but the scars usually disappear over time.

Why is it not possible to undergo the procedure only under local anaesthesia?

Because from the plastic surgery point of view, this is a more demanding type of intervention, where it is better and more comfortable for you to sleep through the entire procedure In fact, you will wake up in the clinic’s room – at that moment, of course, still with your chest bandaged.
