Thigh Lift

Description of the procedure and the resulting effect

The surgeon makes the incision on the inner side of the thigh from the knee to the groin and in the groin then in the shape of the letter T. He/she removes the excess skin, including the subcutaneous tissue, and stretches the loose skin upwards. At the end of the surgery, the surgeon closes the wound with absorbable sutures and applies a sterile dressing. On the first or second day after the procedure, the doctor removes the drains and puts on a compression garment.

Thigh Lift Thigh Lift

Description of the procedure and the resulting effect

Thigh lift is suitable for patients in whom liposuction cannot be performed due to loss of skin elasticity. However, even younger patients after significant weight loss have problems with loose skin. Loose sagging skin creates folds in critical areas, which can cause considerable problems both in the choice of clothing and in personal hygiene. Individual incisions will be consulted with the surgeon.

Convalescence

Special elastic underwear is worn for 4-6 weeks 24 hours a day. The first week after the surgery, complete rest is recommended. Lighter housework is possible in 14 days. More demanding physical activities are prohibited for 2 months. Returning to work depends on your own feeling of recovery, but usually within 1 – 2 weeks after the surgery. The procedure is amazingly effective and permanent. The result should be your satisfaction and overall boosting your self-confidence and especially your quality of life.

Frequently asked questions about the procedure

Who is the surgery suitable for?

Thigh lift is suitable for patients in whom liposuction cannot be performed due to loss of skin elasticity. Even younger patients after significant weight loss have problems with loose skin.

Will the thighs get rid of cellulite?

Partly. The surgery removes parts of the skin and the underlying thigh tissue. Tightened skin can temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite, but since cellulite is the result of skin and fat structure, it is likely to reappear soon.

Where are the incisions made?

For an inner thigh lift, one incision is made in the groin fold that can extend to the back crease of the buttocks. The surgery may also involve vertical scars that run down the lower limbs from the groin so that the surgeon has better access to the underlying tissue. The way the incisions are made is consulted with the surgeon.

Do thigh scars remain?

Scars are inevitable with any surgery, but our surgeons perform the procedure in a way that usually allows patients to hide traces of surgery..

What can I expect after the surgery?

After the surgery, a two-week complete rest is recommended. Office work is possible after 14 days. For the following 4-6 weeks, the patient wears the compression garment, which can be put off just to take a shower. Full physical activity is possible 6-8 weeks after surgery. Sutures are usually absorbable and do not need to be removed. Elastic compression bandages or sleeves shall be worn as long as the medical findings require. We recommend wearing elastic sleeves up to 2 months after the procedure (the 2nd month, especially when standing, walking, or moving more actively).
