Breast

Breast lift

Description of the procedure and the resulting effect

Part of the surgery is shaping, relocation of the breast tissue of the mammary gland, removal of excess skin and lifting of the lowered areola. The choice of a particular surgical technique depends on how lowered the breasts and areolas are. With a slight sagging, or only with a small breast lift, the procedure is performed by a fine incision around the areola and the tissue is pulled to the centre of the breast. If the breast lowering is greater, it is necessary to make another incision vertically from the areola to the inframammary fold.

Before breast plastic surgery, it is also necessary to rule out breast disease by ultrasound (sonographic) examination, which can be performed at your doctor or at our clinic before the surgery.

Convalescence

A special elastic bra is worn for 6-8 weeks 24 hours a day. Sutures are absorbable. Physical activities that could strain the breasts are prohibited. The first week after the surgery, complete rest is recommended. Lighter housework is possible in 14 days, hard work, lifting weights and sports activities after 2 months. Returning to work depends on what job you do and on your own feeling of recovery. The procedure is highly effective and permanent. The result should be your satisfaction and overall boosting your self- confidence and especially your quality of life.

Frequently asked questions about the procedure

Where are the incisions made?

Incision direction is specific to each patient. It is affected by the amount of skin that needs to be removed. In case of the slightest intervention, the incision can be made around the top of the nipple. In more severe cases, the incision is made around the nipple, from the nipple downwards and possibly horizontally under the breasts.

Will there be scars after the surgery?

After the surgery and for a few more months, the scars may turn pink and get swollen. Usually, these symptoms almost disappear over time. The final result depends on your ability to heal.

Will I have to skip work?

We recommend that you take at least 5 days off to recover. After a week, you can continue with less strenuous activities. We recommend not to lift your hands for two weeks.

What are the risks and possible complications?

As with any surgery, bleeding, scarring or infection may occur. Occasionally, small differences in breast size and shape may occur. Rarely, nipple sensitivity may be lost. It is important to realize that natural aging can cause the breasts to sag again over time.
